Frequently Asked Questions
What is the SaskWatch Research® Community?
The SaskWatch Research Community was launched in January 2008 by Insightrix Research Inc., a Saskatchewan-based research company. Insightrix, in business since 2001, has an office located in Saskatoon, SK. For more information about our company, visit the company website: http://www.insightrix.com.
The SaskWatch Research Community is for Saskatchewan residents only. The Community provides an opportunity for residents to have their say on a variety of issues that face residents of the province and their local communities.

Who uses the results of SaskWatch Research® surveys? What are the results used for?
Insightrix Research is commissioned to conduct research to help our clients learn more about the opinions of Saskatchewan residents. Our clients come from the private and public sectors, including government bodies, not-for-profit groups and private companies.
The research we conduct on SaskWatch Research is used by organizations to inform their decision-making, whether to develop policies, to meet the needs of the consumer or to shed light on the attitudes of residents in the province.
What are the benefits of being a member of SaskWatch Research®?
Your views will influence decision-makers, whether they are developing public policy or developing new products and services for Saskatchewan residents. Your voice will be heard in the media as they report on the changing preferences of Saskatchewan residents.

About My Membership
Do you have to be from Saskatchewan to join your community?
Yes. All Saskatchewan residents, 16 years of age or older, are eligible to join the community.
Are there any other requirements for joining the SaskWatch Research community?
SaskWatch Research members must be willing to be part of a research community composed of other individuals like you, who are interested in influencing the future of Saskatchewan. Also, you must not be working in the market research field. We also require that our members take part in at least one survey per quarter (three months).
What information is required to become a community member?
Completing a brief profile survey is the only information required for joining the community. Your profile survey will ask for basic contact information and demographics. This information ensures we have a broad section of the Saskatchewan population in our community (e.g., gender, age, education, etc).
Why do you need to know about my background information?
We gather background information from our members to send them invitations to relevant surveys. We may also analyze results by demographic segment (e.g., by age, gender, location, etc.). In all instances, the answers you provide are combined with those of other community members. We never release personally identifiable information.
Will my profile information be sold to other companies?
No. Your personal details will never be sold or distributed to third parties. All personal data we collect in your profile, and in the answers you provide to our surveys, remain strictly confidential, and your privacy is guaranteed. Your personal details will never be sold, exchanged, or distributed to any other party without your express acknowledgement. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How will your personal information be kept secure?
Insightrix takes the security of your information seriously. We have implemented physical, electronic and managerial procedures which meet industry standards in order to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access to, and loss or alteration of, the personal information members provide. Access to your personal information by Insightrix personnel is limited to select staff.
How do I update my email address or other profile information (e.g., phone number, home address)?
Your email address is your primary identifier on the SaskWatch community. If you need to update it, simply log in using your current (old) email address. Once logged in, click on "Account Information" in the top navigation bar and select "My Details." From there, you will be taken to a page where you can update your email address as well as other profile information. Be sure to click "Submit" after making any changes to ensure they are saved.
To update other profile details such as your phone number, home address, or other personal information, go to "Account Information" and click on "User Profile." This section contains the same survey you completed when you first joined the community and will always be available for you to update your information. After making your changes, be sure to complete and submit the survey to ensure your updated details are properly saved to your account.
Keeping your information up to date ensures you continue receiving relevant surveys and updates. If you need help, please contact us at https://panel.saskwatch.ca/contactus
About the Surveys
How do I complete a SaskWatch Research® survey?
Completing a SaskWatch Research survey is very simple. Alternatively, you can log in directly to the SaskWatch community portal using your email address and password. Once logged in, any available surveys will be listed on your survey page, ready for you to complete.
Please read the various questions and statements carefully. Answer the questions to the best of your ability. There are no right or wrong answers.
To move back a question, such as if you need to change a previous response, click on the left-pointing arrow on the web page. Do not click on the "back" button in your browser.
To move forward, click on the blue right-pointing arrow on the web page. Do not click on the "forward" button in your browser.
If you need to exit the survey before you are finished, please close your browser.
To get back into the survey, click again on the link we sent you in the email invitation. It will take you back to the point where you left off.
Sometimes surveys are very short and have just a few questions. Other times, a survey may take several minutes. We will let you know when the questionnaire is completed.
When you have completed the survey, you are all done. Your Reward Points will be automatically credited to your account. Please allow a few minutes for your account to reflect any updates.
What if I have problems completing a survey?
Contact us at https://panel.saskwatch.ca/contactus. Please include the name of the survey in the subject line of your email. The survey name can be found on the survey invitation email that you received. Once you have located the survey name, describe the problem you encountered. We will respond to your email within one business day, and we'll do our best to solve the problem for you so you can finish the survey.
Why are some surveys only open for a short time?
We try to provide as much time for members to answer our surveys. However, sometimes we need to gather people's opinions quite quickly; for example, when we are asking about a current issue where events may change quickly, or sometimes when our clients need to get a speedy "snapshot" of public opinion.
We will always try to state in our email invitation when a survey will only be open for a short period, so you know to respond quickly, and where we do specify a study closure date, we will not close the survey before the given date.
How are the surveys I receive selected?
When you answer our survey questions and share details about yourself, your lifestyle, and your interests, we use that information to send you surveys that match your preferences.
Why does it say survey closed?
Most of the time, SaskWatch community members are given at least one week to complete a survey. Occasionally, organizations have an urgent need for survey data, so there is a shorter interviewing period. If you try to log on to the survey after the interviewing period is over, then the Survey Closed message will appear. Sorry about that. However, we look forward to your participation in future surveys.
How many surveys will I do?
We encourage you to take part in all the surveys to which you are invited. However, your participation in surveys is completely voluntary. Typically, you will be invited to between one and four surveys each month. In order to be considered an active member of the SaskWatch Research Community, we ask that you participate in at least one survey per quarter (three months).
Reward Points
How much are Reward Points worth?
The value of each Reward Point is fixed at $0.10. The minimum amount paid for a survey is 10 points (or $1.00).
How many Reward Points will I earn for participating in online surveys?
Each invitation will tell you how many Reward Points you will earn for completing the online survey. Each survey will be worth between 10 and 50 Reward Points, depending on the length and urgency of the survey. The longer and/or more urgent the survey, the greater the point value. If you have been invited to participate in a survey but do not qualify, you will be entered in a monthly draw for $100.00 to be made on the last day of every month!

How many Reward Points do I need to redeem for cash or donate to a charity?
The minimum number of Reward Points needed to redeem for cash is 200 ($20 in value).
If I redeem my Reward Points for cash, how will I get my money?

Note that Insightrix is not required to report SaskWatch payments to the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). It is up to each community member to self-report receipt of any payments to the CRA. You can keep track of your transactions on your account under the heading "Rewards".
What if I choose to donate my Reward Points to a charity?
We will transfer the Reward Points donated to the charity's account. You will receive a tax receipt from the charity for your donation.
How often is my Reward Points information updated?
Unless stated otherwise in the invite, Reward Points are updated immediately after you complete an online survey. If this is not the case, please wait a few minutes and then refresh the page. If you have any questions about your Reward Points, please contact the Panel Manager at https://panel.saskwatch.ca/contactus
Do points expire?
You can accumulate points for as long as you like if you remain ACTIVE with SaskWatch. After 12 months of inactivity, you will be sent an email notification that you have 90 days to become active or your points will be forfeited. You can maintain an active status by completing any survey available to you.
Other membership & technical issues
I am not receiving any survey invitations - why is this?
After a survey is launched, you will receive an email invitation with instructions on accessing the survey. If you are not receiving any invitations, it may be worth checking that they are not being diverted into your spam email folder. To ensure this does not happen, please add survey@panel.saskwatch.ca to your safe list.
All live surveys to which you are invited are also available in the member portal. Log in at https://panel.saskwatch.ca and look under the "surveys", then click on "Available surveys".
I logged into the member page, but there are no open studies.
When there are active surveys available for you, you will be notified by email. These surveys will also appear in your SaskWatch account under the "Surveys" section. Just click on "Available surveys" to participate.
If you don’t see any surveys listed, it means you’ve already completed them or there are currently no active surveys available for you.
Where do I go if I have forgotten my password?
Click on the "Reset Password" link and provide the email you used to register. An email with a link for you to reset your password will be sent to you within a few minutes.
How can I opt out of the community?
To opt out of the community, simply contact us at https://panel.saskwatch.ca/contactus and let us know you wish to unsubscribe. You will be removed from the community and will not receive future survey invitations. You also forfeit any Reward Points you have earned to date if you choose to unsubscribe. Alternatively, you can click here to unsubscribe from the community. Just make sure you’re logged in when using this link.
